E-mail in Education

Email (short for "electronic mail") is a way of sending messages or information over the internet. It works like regular mail, but instead of using paper, it sends digital messages from one person or computer to another. You can send text, pictures, files, or links to someone, and they can reply back. All you need is an email address, which is like a digital "mailbox" where you send and receive messages.

Personally I believe e-mail is the most professional out of all of the communication strategies. It will also prepare students on how to formally write an e-mail. In high school, more than ever, I feel we should be teaching students how to formally write an email and the uses. In the real world, in a professional basis, e-mail is the first form of communication.

Having a student e-mail can allow access to many different websites. In college, your e-mail can allow you to have free subscriptions, library access, etc. Having an e-mail creates so many educational links that are extremely beneficial in your learning journey.

E-mail communications can help you get feedback sooner. Without having to wait for your next class, teachers may grade things sooner and report back all the feedback and grades to your e-mail.

School newsletters are something that aren't given out anymore or seen on paper. E-mail is the beneficial way to release these letters, letting students know what is going on, on campus and how they can access it.
